While this blog site requires its own hosting (at least for commercial use), having its own hosting means it is not subject to sudden destruction by a Google reviewer. Having a blogger site deleted can be quite devastating given the amount of time and effort that goes into creating and customizing content. Hosting costs money, but most providers allow multiple WordPress sites to be installed on a single host account - thus reducing the per domain cost once an internet entrepreneur has scaled up their number of sites.

Blogger is (as the name implies) an easy build website blogging program. A user simply signs into their Google account, selects a domain for their new website and starts adding content. It literally takes only a few minutes to be ready for full use. A user chooses a catchy domain name and sets the title and description, and chooses a theme. At that point the infrastructure of the site is done and the owner can begin adding content right away.

For affiliate marketers there are some advantages to the Blogger platform, including:

• Commercial Use OK
• No Cost to Use Program
• Hosting Provided by Google (no cost)
• Ease of Monetization with AdSense (and now Amazon)
• Some Google Page Rank Enhancement

On the other hand the Blogger.com site does have some limitations:

• Limited Number of Ready to Install Themes
• Subject to Deletion by Google
• Not 100% Well Suited for Use with Autoresponders/List Builder Software
• Not Usually the Most Attractive

Which of the Easy Build Websites Is Right for the Job

Usually this question is answerable by both the nature of the content of the sites being built and the relative financial importance of the effort. If the domain is expected to be a big money-maker on a long-term basis then usually the investment in hosting and the WordPress platform is worth the effort. Truth be told, once a webmaster has built one WordPress site (and committed to paying a host for server space), there really is little need to go back to the Blogger platform, unless it is to try a new niche or for building external back links to the primary WordPress domain."
