What to do? What options do you have? Well, one option that has proved popular in recent years is home network marketing. The nice thing about this option is that you can start today but retain your current job. Whilst the concept is good, it is true to say that many who try this option fail and make no money. The reasons are many and varied but the main reason is to do with lack of commitment. People just don't take these businesses seriously and as a result their results are miserable. Of course the advantages of a home network marketing business are many. For instance, you won't be sitting in traffic every day. You'll save money on gas and wear and tear on your car; you'll even save money on clothes. No more going for days without seeing much of your kids and spouse. Not to mention the vacations? Take your laptop along for as many holidays as you want, do a little work each day and live the life with your family.

So how do you choose the right opportunity for you? The key is to find the right leader. You need someone who is already successful. Once you have found that person (and assuming you have an affinity for the product and the company he promotes), all you need to so is follow that person. Do whatever he tells you to do. Simple as that.

Once you have found your mentor he will then help you with the number one activity: sales and marketing. There are plenty of ways to generate leads, but essentially you can boil it down to online and offline methods. In recent years online methods have become very popular, although it is fair to say that some traditional network marketing companies frown on the use of the internet to drum up business. Check with your sponsor and determine the best way forward.

One of the online strategies I like to employ is a lead generation funnel system which uses a funded proposal technique whereby a small information product is promoted at the front end. When someone buys it, you get a small but handy commission.
